Report from the SCA President
Our annual Sandwiches and Song organised with the Development Office was held in October 2016.
As always the first event was extremely well received, we had good attendance with over 150 people.  This event will be held on 23 October 2017.

Our secretary, Edwina Renton and I along with our  youngest children, Lily Renton, Year 8 and William, helped at the Bowraville Camp in September.  John Mooney, Director of Mission, has been running the Camp for many years.  The Camp is part of the School’s ongoing support of the Bowraville Indigenous Community, in particular, St Mary’s  school.  Seventeen Year 11 students attended the Camp along with four teachers and Gap students, running activities for the St Mary’s students.  Edwina’s wonderful catering skills ensured everyone was well fed for the week. We came away with a better understanding of indigenous communities and their needs.  We certainly got just as much out of the week as the students.

After the great success of our Card Day last year, we are to hold the event again on Friday July 14, 2017.  Please put it in your diaries.  All are welcome, any card game at any skill level can be enjoyed.

I thank my committee for their ongoing support.  Denise Jones, Vice President (’74), Jan Eldershaw, Treasurer (’74), Edwina Renton, Secretary (’84), Geraldine Daley (RB ’68), Abbie Jones (2010), Laura Courtenay (’98), Libby Dammann (’77), Marea Coutts (’84), Tracey Parrelli (’84) and Bernice Miles (’84).
Sister Margaret McKay remains the linchpin of our committee.  May I also thank Anne de Broglio who continues to support us.

I look forward to an exciting year ahead, witth the 135th anniversary of our School.
Please stay connected and give me a ring anytime with ideas, concerns or just to say hello. Thank you.
Warmest regards
Liz Clunies-Ross
